Photoélectroluminescence - électroluminescence contrôlée par les radiations

Abstract
The control of electroluminescence by an UV or X irradiation is called photo-electroluminescence. This phenomenon has been observed with ZnS(Mn, Cl) films ; each UV photon produces many emitted quanta. The Mn centers are excited by impact of accelerated electrons, but also by resonance transfers with the hole-electron pairs produced by the accelerated electrons. The shift of the emission spectrum is ascribed to a Stark effect of the Mn ions.
