Étude optique et diélectrique de la boracite

Abstract
Boracite, Mg3B7013Cl, seems to be a ferroelectric : its domains are sensitive to the application of an electric field ; the dielectric constant shows a sudden discontinuity at 265°C; the hysteresis cycle is visible, just below the transition. The impurities of the mineral may explain the observed weak remanent polarization (0,002 µC/cm 2).
