The thermoelectric power issued from the thermocouple silver /aluminium used in comparatively thick films, is equal to 5.45 microvolts /degree between 150° and 380° C. It is increased if the hot solding is eroded by iodine or if a thin layer of antimony is introduced between the silver and aluminium. The erosion by bromine or the interposition of conductors or semi-conductors provokes a variable increase : the thermoelectric power changes then in direct ratio with the rise in temperature.
