Constitution chimique des centres luminogènes dans ZnS et ZnO

N. Riehl et H. Ortmann

Abstract
Activated zinc sulfides may be obtained by desulfurisation (e. g. with H2) ; it is not necessary to introduce Cl2 or trivalent "coactivators". Evidence is given for the vicinity of Cu S-vacancies in ZnS(Cu). Calcination of ZnS in HCl without H2O also produces free Zn ions. Blue luminescent " without activator " ZnS cannot be obtained in the absence of O2.

PACS
3350 - Fluorescence and phosphorescence; radiationless transitions, quenching (intersystem crossing, internal conversion).
