Abstract
The quantum efficiency of the luminescence of ZnS(Cu) and ZnS(Cu, Co) has been investigated from both experimental and theoretical points of view. The effect of the excitation intensity and the killer effect of cobalt are discussed. The efficiency depends on the excitation wavelength according to Vavilov's law.
